About Chieng Fa

Welcome to my travel journal. This site is where I write up my first impressions of places, provide updates on events in Southeast Asia, and pass along any travel news or information I may receive. Occasionally, I also write about the life and culture of my adopted country of Thailand, passing along information that doesn’t fit into the normal travel guide format.

Chieng Fa literally means "sky city" in the Northern Thai dialect. But, you won’t find Chieng Fa on any map of Thailand; there is no real place called Chieng Fa. It’s a place of dreams, somewhere in the imagination.

If you have a comment or question about this site, please feel free to contact me using the feedback form.

If you’d like to know more about the advertisers featured here, read on. Most of the content of this site is available for re-publication, as is the content of my other web sites.

About Our Advertisers

All our advertisers have been selected for their relevance to those who travel, at least in their imaginations. When you purchase items from these sites, you’re helping to keep this site growing.

Accommodation

Hotels Combined carries an inventory of thousands of hotels across Southeast Asia, and the world, and allows you to compare rates for any hotel from up to 30 different booking sites. For hotels in Thailand, you can also find links to R24, the booking engine behind the highly regarded Sawasdee.com. Their site isn’t pretty, but their rates are often very competitive, and they also offer a larger range of budget hotels than any other booking site.

Tours

Full day and half-day tours to many of the most popular sights throughout Asia can be booked through our affiliate Viator. By booking in advance through Viator, you’ll be sure to get the tours you want, and you won’t be surprised at the cost.

Most of the content of this site is available for licensed re-publication in print or electronic format. Most single page articles are between 750 and 1,500 words, with multi-page destination guides stretching to nearly 5,000 words. We’d be happy to revise, combine or customize content to fit your specific editorial requirements.

The cost of re-publication is negotiable, and naturally varies based on the length of the article, re-work required, photographs, etc. Pricing starts as low as $25. If you’d like a specific quotation, please send your requirements to the editor.

We’re also available for new press assignments to write original articles for your own site or publication. Invitations may be sent to the editor.
